RNLI Donation

During the Summer Term, Prussia Cove and Perran class held a cake sale to raise money for the RNLI as part of their ‘What makes a hero super?’ topic. They learnt all about real life heroes and decided to fundraise to support a local charity.

After completing a Superhero obstacle challenge with parents, the children sold yummy cakes and raised a fantastic £100. Last weekend Mrs Sandow visited Penlee Lifeboat Station and with the help of Jon, Matt and Dan they presented the cheque to Coxswain Patch Harvey and crew member Andrew Stevens. The boys were invited on board the ‘Ivan Ellen’ Lifeboat and then watched it launch on a planned mission to support the ‘round the Mount swim.’

The crew were very impressed with the fundraising effort and were extremely grateful, posting on their Facebook page….

“ Thank you so much to the staff, parents and pupils at St.Hilary School for supporting our Lifeboat- please come back and see us soon.”

The money will go towards the building of the new Penlee Lifeboat station, a new modern, purpose built facility for a vital lifesaving organisation.
